Midlife Exercise Offers Long-Term Payoffs for Women
Regular exercise not only improves cardiovascular health, strengthens muscles, and enhances flexibility, but it also reduces the risk of chronic diseases, increases energy levels, and more. Now a recent study shows that women who exercise regularly during midlife experience better health—even if that exercise didn’t begin until their 40s or 50s.
For a study published in PLOS Medicine, researchers analyzed data from 11,336 individuals enrolled in the Australian Longitudinal Study on Women’s Health, initially aged 47 to 52. Participants were categorized into three groups based on their adherence to the World Health Organization’s guidelines over a span of 15 years: those consistently meeting the guidelines, those initiating compliance during midlife (at ages 55, 60, or 65), and those who never adhered to the guidelines.
The researchers then used a 36-question health survey to assign a “quality of life” score to each participant. What they found is that those who were consistently active or began exercising in midlife experienced the best quality of life down the road.
This study sheds new light on the fact that it’s never too late to begin exercising, even if you’ve been sedentary until midlife. Just remember to consult your healthcare provider before beginning a new exercise program.
8 Emerging Health Benefits of Red Light Therapy
Red light therapy, also called low-level light therapy (LLLT) or photobiomodulation (PBM), has been around for a few decades, but its incredible health benefits are just emerging. Studies show it can help reduce inflammation and pain, improve energy and mood, speed muscle recovery, and may even promote hair growth.
So, what is red light therapy? Using a special device that emits red and near-infrared light, typically ranging from 660 to 890 nanometers, this light penetrates the skin and is absorbed by the body, where it begins to work its therapeutic benefits almost immediately.
Then, the real magic happens within the cells themselves. Once absorbed, the red light activates receptors in the mitochondria, which are like tiny powerhouses within our cells. By kickstarting these mitochondria, red light therapy helps cells function better, like supercharged batteries, leading to improved overall cell efficiency.
One key benefit of this cellular boost is increased production of nitric oxide, which enhances blood flow throughout the body. Better blood circulation means tissues receive more oxygen and nutrients, promoting healing and overall well-being. Essentially, red light therapy works at a deep cellular level to optimize cell function and circulation, resulting in its range of impressive health benefits.

Check the Ingredients in Your Laundry Detergent…You Might Be Shocked
Do you ever wonder what lurks in the suds that clean your clothes? The scary reality is that most are loaded with highly poisonous chemicals like chlorine, ammonia, and other toxins…which can not only cause rashes and irritate your skin but wreak havoc on your endocrine and immune systems. Plus, many of them contain toxic chemicals like Triclosan, which could even make you gain weight.
As the washing machine churns, these chemicals sneak into the fibers of your clothes. Then, they slowly seep into the largest organ of your body: Your skin! The worst part? This may lead to 24/7 exposure to toxins.
That’s why Truly Free developed a non-toxic, super-powerful detergent…one that’s free of harsh, skin-irritating chemicals. Instead, it uses mill salts and plant-based cleansing ingredients (100% vegan), which will give you crisp and clean clothes, free from stains and chemicals. Plus, your clothes will smell as fresh as a spring day and be fluffy and soft to the touch.

When dining out don’t be afraid to ask for your food to be prepared with less salt and consider adding a splash of lemon juice or sprinkle of pepper for extra flavor. Plus, when you’re cooking at home, experiment with different seasonings. Basil, cinnamon, curry powder, dill, garlic, ginger, lemon juice, nutmeg, and more can add delicious flavor to your dishes without adding sodium. (More)

To protect yourself, make sure you have good ventilation in your kitchen and that your stove is in good working order. (More)
